What's an Overbite?
When the upper front teeth overlap with the lower front teeth, this is referred to in dentistry as an "overbite". It's very common for most people to have at least some overbite without there being a problem. But when there is a problem, Fall Creek Family Dental should be contacted to handle the issue.
Problems Involving an Overbite That's Too Large
If you have a deep bite, this can cause a series of issues. These issues include teeth wearing down to moderate or severe pain in the jawbone. The dentist uses a percentage to describe overbites, and 5-25% is ideal. Anything higher than 25% usually indicates medical treatment being necessary.

What's an Underbite?
An underbite is the exact opposite of an overbite. When you close your jaws, your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. This tends to be a problem even in minor cases for anyone with this condition.
